    Duquesne Light is providing rebates on a wide range of energy-saving devices that a commercial or industrial customer might use, such as linear LED lamps,LED fixtures, variable frequency drives. After purchasing and installing any of the equipment on the list, customers must complete a rebate application form and send it to the address provided on the form. The rebate is paid by check.

    Please review our rebate catalog* to see what products may entitle your business to a rebate.

    Eligibility

    • You must be a commercial or industrial Duquesne Light customer.
    • The equipment or energy savings measure you install must meet all the requirements provided in the rebate catalog and on this web site.
    • Watt Choices Program funds must be available at the time the properly completed rebate application is received.
    • The equipment must have been purchased and installed after June 1, 2016.
    • The equipment must be installed at facilities served by Duquesne Light.
    • Customers may not apply for rebates for the same product, equipment or service from more than one utility.
    • The rebate application form must be completed in its entirety and submitted with all required documentation within 180 days of completion of installation.
    Obtaining a Rebate Application Form Submitting a Rebate Application
    • Read and follow all instructions on the application.
    • Complete and sign the rebate form.
    • Attach the copied paid receipt listing the vendor, item description, date of purchase and price of the product.
    • Attach a copy of the first page of your Duquesne Light bill. (optional)
    • Make sure your Duquesne Light account number and customer name is on the rebate form.
    • A separate rebate form must be completed for each service address and for each Duquesne Light account number.
    • Keep a copy of your rebate form and attachments for your records.
    Additional Information/Terms and Conditions
    • Rebates will be issued in the form of a check.
    • Checks will be mailed approximately 90 days after the receiving your qualified application.
    • Separate rebate applications must be submitted for each Duquesne Light account number.
    • Separate rebate applications must be submitted for each service address where energy efficient equipment is installed.
    • Multiple rebates may be applied for on one rebate application if all items are installed at the same service address. For example a lighting rebate and a VS Drive rebate may be applied for with one application.
    • Duquesne Light reserves the right to deny a rebate due to Watt Choices program funding depletion.
    • Duquesne Light reserves the right to deny a rebate due to an incomplete or illegible application.
    • Duquesne Light does not endorse any manufacturers, dealers, or contractors.
    • Duquesne Light provides no warranty for the energy efficient equipment.
    • By participating in this program, you agree that Duquesne Light has no liability related to the quality, safety and/or installation of the energy efficient equipment.
    • If requested, you must allow Duquesne Light or PUC representatives access to your premises to verify installation of the energy efficiency equipment you are requesting a rebate for.
    • Duquesne Light is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected or postage-due applications.
    • All submitted materials become the property of Duquesne Light and will not be returned.
    • Rebate checks will be mailed to US addresses only.
    • The program opened June 1, 2016.
    • Your right to receive this rebate will not be earned unless you purchase a qualifying Business Rebate catalog item and meet the terms and conditions listed on this web site, the Business Rebate Application form, and the Business Rebate Catalog. Duquesne Light makes the final determination of whether or not all terms and conditions have been met.
    • It is suggested that customers contact their Conservation Service Provider for assistance in completing their rebate application form. Especially if the project is over $5k in rebate amount or Custom rebate submission.

    Excessive submissions of rebate applications constitute fraud and may result in federal prosecution under the US mail fraud statutes (Title 18, USC 1341 and 1342).


    Frequently Asked Questions
    • What if I want the rebate check made payable to someone else?
      Duquesne Light prefers that rebate checks be made payable to the name on the Duquesne Light account. However, if a Duquesne Light business customer is certain that they want their rebate paid to another party they should do the following:

      Prepare a letter on their business letterhead.   Address it to:

      Duquesne Light Company
      Energy Efficiency Department
      Mail Drop 15-3
      411 Seventh Ave
      Pittsburgh, PA 15219

      Include the Duquesne Light account number where the Rebate Projects are installed.

      Indicate in the letter that they understand that because of energy efficiency improvements on their premises served by Duquesne Light that they are likely eligible for a Watt Choices rebate of approximately $_________ and they want the rebate check not made payable to them, but instead made payable to: ____(name and address)____.

      Sign and date the letter.
      Give us a telephone number we may call if we have questions.
      Submit the letter with their Rebate Application Form.

    • What's a Conservation Service Provider (CSP)?
      A CSP is defined as an entity that provides information and technical assistance on measures to enable a person to increase energy efficiency or reduce energy consumption. Duquesne Light has selected CSPs to work with specific business segments in the Watt Choices program. To identify your CSP, find your business segment in the list on the left hand vertical menu with the yellow background and "Business" at the top (Commercial, Industrial, Government/Nonprofit/Education Establishments,"). Click on your segment to get the name and number of the company that is probably your CSP. If you aren’t certain which business segment you are in, send the question with your name, phone number and account number to wattchoices@duqlight.com.

    • I want to install energy saving equipment that is not listed in Duquesne Light's Business Rebate Catalog. Can I get a rebate for it?
      It's possible. Work with your business segment's CSP to determine if your energy saving equipment will qualify for a custom rebate and the rebate amount.
